Yes — perhaps even more so. Internal apps often lose attention, updates are forgotten, backups silently fail, nobody notices. A lightweight CI/CD pipeline with auto-updates and monitoring costs little and prevents the app from one day just sitting broken on the network.
Once the pipeline is in place: minimal. Updates install themselves, backups run unattended, monitoring only speaks up when there's a problem. Realistic: 1–2 hours per month for reviews and patch releases, plus ad-hoc on major upgrades.
Everything is documented, everything is in your Git, everything is open source components. Migrating to another host or another provider is a matter of days, not months. We deliberately avoid artificial lock-ins.
